On September 21, 2013 The Los Angeles Times reported a tragic yet anarchic event that occurred in Long Beach. The night before the 6500 block of Rose Avenue had a huge party. This party consisted of loud music, screaming, and deaths. An investigator talked with one of the 6500 block of Rose Avenue neighbor, Erica Reeder. On the same night Reeder reported she was at home watching TV Friday when she heard at least six cops arriving. Reeder also heard women screaming and one of them yelled, " 'My brother's shot. My brother's dead. Someone shot my brother'." At 9:55 P.M. on Friday night, the Long Beach police men started "they received several calls about shots fired." Sergeant David Marander of Long Beach told The Los Angeles Times on Saturday, there were two men shot dead and two women were taken to the nearest hospital. One of the women that were taken to the hospital was announced to have no fatal injuries, but the other was in critical condition. The two men's indentities were not released yet. The Long Beach police are still looking for the shooter but have assumed he/she was not among the group at the party. He/She decided to approach the party from the street and started shooting in the backyard where a small party was taking place.

  1. Nice job on including such details that made this post interesting! Life is full of danger and one does not know what will happen, when it will happen, or where it will happen. Danger is everywhere and hearing this crime just adds more fear into lives. Being at the wrong place at the wrong time can cost one their life. This is what the world has turned into.

  2. More people shooting at other people! What a surprise! Firearms have become an issue nowadays. Many people cannot control themselves in any situations. This person randomly decided to shoot at people at a party he/she had no business in. There is no excuse for this. People were trying to have fun and this person shows up and ruins it. Like Annie stated in her comment, they were just at the wrong place at the wrong time. Wonderful job on the details Nicole.

  4. It is almost everyday that we hear about a new shooting. It is almost as if there is a string of shootings and massacres occurring everyday, with the next being even worse from the last. It makes it hard to be able to walk down a street that someone has known for their whole life, a difficult and scary task.
